This article is for fun purposes only – please do not attempt these hikes unless you are an experienced hiker and are fully prepared.
Aries (March 21 - April 19) – Skyline Trail, Mount Rainier National Park, Washington.
Aries are the bold and ambitious! They love to dive straight into challenging situations and love to be number one. We recommend for them to hike at Skyline/Muir Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington. This hike is 8.6 miles and features a waterfall. It’s one of the most difficult trails in the U.S. but if any sign is up for the challenge, it’s the Aries!
Taurus (April 20 – May 20) – Cotswold Way, Bath, United Kingdom
If you’re a Taurus, then you love relaxing in serene environments with soft sounds. A Taurus would definitely enjoy their time at Cotswold Way. The Cotswold Way is a hiking trail in the beautiful city of Bath in the United Kingdom. This 100-mile trail has small routes that feature the glorious countryside, villages, and even landmarks! A perfect, quiet spot for the Taurus.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20) – Laguna De Los Tres, Patagonia, Argentina
Geminis love to express themselves externally! In our day in age, this translates to posting a lot on social media and being connected with others. Laguna De Los Tres in Patagonia is an extremely picturesque hike that a Gemini would love to post online. It also is an extremely calming trail, perfect for this hyperactive sign!
Cancer (June 21 – July 22) – Garden Route, South Africa
Symbolized by the crab, cancers are highly intuitive and find themselves existing in both emotional and material places, much like the sea and shore. It’s highly fitting that their trail is the Garden Route in South Africa. The Garden Route is in Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park, where hikers can trek through coastal forests to take in views of both the rocky clifftops and the sea.
Leo (July 23 – August 22) – Trolltunga, Norway
The King and Queens of the jungle are the Leos! They’re not only extremely passionate but are described as vivacious and theatrical. They love the spotlight, which is why we chose Trolltunga (“Troll’s Tongue”) in Norway which lies at the western edge of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. This trail features one of the most awe-inspiring cliffs in the world, around 2,300ft above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. How can you not feel like the King/Queen of the world from up there?
Virgo (August 23 – Sept. 22) – Hooker Valley Track, New Zealand
Virgos are logical, practical, and systematic in their approach to all things in life. It’s no wonder why they would want to fit as many big views and sights into one trip as possible. The Hooker Valley Track in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand features a rain forest, suspension foot bridges over a rushing river, views of the island nation’s largest peaks, glaciers, and the waters of the lake. So many to see on this one hike, and Virgos would enjoy every second of it!
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22) – Les Dentelles de Montmirail in Gigondas, France
Les Dentelles de Montmirail in Gigondas, France is a long hike that features the limestone hills of Montmirail. The trail is draped with vineyards. After your hike, its wise to take a trip to the town of Gigondas, where locals offer samples of the wine in the main square! Libras would take a liking to this hike because they strive to create equilibrium in all areas of life – the hike may be physically draining but the wine is able to balance the equilibrium, serving as a reward! “Gigondas” roughly translates to “the happy place”.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21) – Eternal Flame Falls Trail, in Buffalo, NY
Scorpios are powerful water signs! They are most often mistaken for fire, given their passionate personalities. A trail they would love would be the Eternal Flame Falls Trail, located at Orchard Park in Buffalo, New York! The Eternal Flame Falls is a 30 ft. waterfall located in the Shale Creek Preserve. The waterfall’s base emits a natural gas that produces a small “eternal” flame that burns year-round. This eternal flame represents the passion of Scorpios, and the water represents their sign.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – December 31) – Great Wall Walks, China
If you’re a Sagittarius, then you are on the quest for knowledge. The perfect place to chase after your geographical and intellectual pursuits is in China, at the Great Wall Walks. The Great Wall of China was a multitude of defensive strands built over 2,000 years by dynasties to protect themselves from the ‘barbarians’ to the north. This is a great trail for those who go on hikes to stimulate their minds, much like a Sagittarius!
Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19) – Mount Madison, Appalachian Trail, West Virginia
Capricorns are skilled at navigating both the material and emotional realm, so that’s why we think Mount Madison on the Appalachian Trail would be great for them. Mount Madison features one of the steepest, most challenging rock scrambles of the entire trail. Capricorns can handle this trail because they would not only be able to navigate over these rocks, but they would also be able to keep a level head.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18) – Zugspitze Area, Austria
Being the most humanitarian astrological sign, the Aquarius is a big thinker. They sometimes are distant in their relationships because they are so focused on implementing widespread ideas. The Zugspitze Area in Austria would be perfect for them, as its one of the best places for solo hiking! An Aquarius would love to hike this easy, relaxing trail alone where they can brainstorm new ideas!
Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20) – Inca Trail, Peru
Pisces struggle because their minds are always divided between fantasy and reality. The Inca Trail in Peru was chosen for them because, although it’s a hard hike, it looks straight out of a story book! This would be a great way for Pisces to focus their energy, as they long for a little fantasy in their life. The trail also has history behind it, as it was once a route of pilgrimage to Machu Picchu used by the Inca (or Emperor) in the 15th century.
